What is IN250?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2026, the United States will celebrate its Semiquincentennial<\/a> – the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The Center for Emerging Media Design and Development\u2019s IN250 team\u2019s challenge is defining how Ball State can leverage its spaces, academic courses, faculty, staff and students to tell the story of Indiana\u2019s last 250 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This team is composed of EMDD students Gabe Eastridge<\/a>, Kennedy Edwards<\/a>, Mikaylin Fulk<\/a>, Zoey Green<\/a> and Sydney Lundy<\/a>. They are collaborating with the Ball State President\u2019s Office and Spencer Ozbun<\/a> of the Remnant Trust<\/a> to begin their research on how to best tell this story and engage the Ball State and Indiana communities with this topic in a time when our country feels divided politically. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRegardless of if we agree with each other about politics, this is our shared history and we should remember everything that has been done and the sacrifices that were made to create this country and our state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have begun initial research into Indiana’s history, past methods of celebration and developed a list of potential projects that could be featured as a part of this experience. Currently, the team is focusing on creating a digital artifact that they will display during this year-long celebration and a framework through which other contributors can join in on the fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This group\u2019s upcoming plans include conducting further historical and user-centered research and developing a prototype of their project that will be ready for testing by the beginning of December. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
